It is the pre-wedding skincare.
Amidst the wedding chaos, most brides forget to take time for their skin and then later regret. Since you have a wedding soon, dig in this article and understand the importance of a pre-wedding skin routine. Also, enlighten yourself with some very useful tips to keep your skin fresh and glowing on your wedding day.
Why is a pre-wedding skincare routine so important?
There are so many reasons behind why you need to take care of your skin before your wedding day. Here are a few.
- All wedding preparations involve every-day shopping trips. You are exposed to dust and pollution every single day. The constant bad exposure ruins your skin. To stop this from happening, you need to clean your skin every night. Who loves blocked pores and grime and dust on their face on their big day?
- What is a wedding without some bridal tantrums and mood swings? These are all-natural emotions that all brides go through. But these changing emotions do have an impact on your skin. The hormonal changes and unsettling emotions play together to ruin your skin’s health. To keep your skin safe and healthy, it is important to treat it with care while you handle your uncontrolled emotions.
- You may call yourself lucky after you successfully book an appointment at your salon for your big day. But let us tell you, no artist big or small can create magic until and unless your skin isn’t healthy and well-groomed. A makeup product doesn’t settle well on skins with closed pores, ruined texture and rough complexion. To make sure your skin looks good on the makeup day, it is necessary to treat it well two to three months prior to your wedding.
Hopefully, our reasons have convinced you to start a pre-wedding skincare routine. Now that you are up for it, here are some lifesaver skincare tips to help you with this journey.
Tips for a pre-wedding skincare routine
- Cleanse and Moisturize
How long does it take to properly cleanse and moisturize your face? Hardly 15 to 30 minutes! For the sake of healthy skin, you can easily take out this much time from your busy routine. Cleansing helps to open the pores of your skin. It stops grime and dust particles from blocking your pores and preventing your skin to breathe. You do need a dirt-free face on your wedding, right? Buy a good cleanser and massage it on your skin. Massage helps with the blood circulation and gives your face a youthful touch. Take a cotton bud and gently scrub it on your skin. The bud will remove the accumulated dirt from your face. Wash your face after a thorough cleansing session.
After a cleansing session, moisturize your skin. You can’t take your dehydrated and dry skin to your wedding venue. Work on your skin by giving it enough moisturizer. Apply a good moisturizer every night after a perfect cleansing session. The combination of cleansing and moisturising does wonders for your skin.
- Exfoliate your skin
There is no way better than exfoliation to get rid of all dead skin cells. Exfoliate your face at least twice a week. Buy a good exfoliator and make good use of it. You can also make a home-made scrub to exfoliate. The best time to exfoliate is before you apply a face wash.
- Olive oil massages
The skin on your hands and feet is as important as on your face. Massage your hands and feet with some olive oil every day. Olive oil helps to keep your hands and feet soft and hydrated.
- Avoid makeup
This isn’t impossible. Do not apply anything artificial on your face before the big day. Makeup products tend to harm your skin and give life to acne issues. Keep your skin make-up free for a month at least. If you can’t avoid makeup on some occasions, make sure you remove it before you hit your bed.
- Water Intake
Increase your water intake. There is nothing that water can’t heal. Make it compulsory to consume at least 10 glasses of water every day. Keep a water bottle with you at all your shopping trips.
- Avoid Junk Food
Do not celebrate your pre-wedding days by consuming junk every day. Do not make this mistake. Junk food can harm your skin in ways you can’t even imagine. Fried food increases acne and ruins your skin’s texture. Consume home-made food and drink lots of fresh juices.
- Exercise and Meditate
Join a gym or exercise at home. The glow on your face after an exercise session is unmatchable. Also, if possible practice lots of yoga and meditation. Yoga helps with the blood circulation which opens your pores and makes your skin glow.
Do not spend all your pre-wedding nights worrying about your big day. Sleep well. Take at least 8 hours of sleep and wake up with fresh skin and mind.
Your skin represents you. Plan for a brilliant representation. On your big day, let your skin speak for itself. Make efforts today so that you can love the results later.
Have a successful skin care routine!
